What To Do When Life Isn't Going Your Way

September 5, 2019

Sometimes life can come at you fast. Effortless, like you're skating on ice.

You think of a friend and they call you.
You want a new relationship and your friends sets you up on a blind date.
You want a new job then someone reaches out on Linkedin.

Then other times life feels so sticky, and things won't move no matter how hard you try.

Guys are standing you up or worse not paying you any attention.
You go on 10 interviews with no call backs

You can't seem to get on the same page with friends/family.

For me I was stressed. I felt like I was doing all of "the things" but wasn't seeing the results I wanted.

I wanted to hide, quit and give up.

As if that wasn’t enough, I felt guilty for my feelings.

If you've ever felt that way or find yourself feeling that way in the future remember it's normal to get down and want to quit.

It's also normal to have a pity party, cry and eat cookies.

Especially when you've been giving something or someone your love and attention, yet it doesn't pan out the way you hope.

There is no reason to feel guilty about your feelings.

But you also don't want to stay down in the dumps or in pity partyville for too long.

You have to get back up and shake it off.

I recently made a video about how I wanted to give up, because I was disappointed and frustrated.

Then I gave myself permission to feel all of my feelings and I was able to move through it.

I received so many messages saying that they needed to hear this and that my vulnerability helped them go easy on themselves.

I wanted to share this with you too.

Let this video serve as motivation and permission to keep going.

Hugs and much love,

Essence
